  1. His major enemies were the Bolsheviks. The party was founded by Vladimir Lenin (opponent of Nicholas II), who also led it in the October Revolution. The Bolsheviks seized power in Russia during the October Revolution phase of the Russian Revolution of 1917, and founded the Soviet Union. They were the ones who escorted the Romanov's to the Tobolsk in the Urals and the Ipatiev House where they were later killed (by a member of the Bolsheviks).
