Tubal ligation reversal after three cesars in australia?

I have had five pregnancies -  two live births, one stillbirth (placental abbruption - I almost lost my life too) and two miscarriages. I have also had three cesars. Our youngest is now three and we had decided to do my tubes at her birth. Only problem is we both deeply regret our decision as we want more babies!!Do you think it is a possibility for us to reverse the ligation and become pregnant again or is it too dangerous?

  1. Im no doctor but sounds like you have had a rough time .. Mayb your body just needs some time to recover and then get tubes reversed . i am wanting to have that done now for my new partner and I to have a bub together . Good Luck ! ! !

  2. It all depends on the type you had. My friend wanted hers reversed she found it very difficult to find a doc willing to reverse it. She was told that even if it was reversed she would find it difficult to get pregnant (not sure why) and had a much higher chance of ectopic pregnancy. You also need remember that you have already had 3 ceasars you would run a much higher risk of complication. good luck

  3. You need to speak to an Obstetrician/gynaecologist and see what they recommend. Most Ob's don't like women to have any more than three cesareans because the scar tissue is so severe that your uterus can rupture and you can bleed to death. The reason you can have trouble conceiving after a tubal reversal is because of the scar tissue in the tubes, either an egg can't pass through or if it does it might get stuck and  then you could have an ectopic pregnancy and lose the tube anyway. Another option is IVF and leave your tubes as they are. Your ovaries are still functioning and probably very able to produce healthy eggs (this option might be the way to go even if you have a tubal reversal) and it will by pass the scarred tubes and back into the uterus with out complications. But the three cesareans are still a worry. You probably should Doctor shop if you are this keen.

  4. I think it depends on how you got them done. My sister had pieces of her tube taken out because they were doing a c-section, mine were burned cause i had mine done laprascopically. So i think ones like mine would be easier to fix, although maybe not impossible either way. Another thing would be invetro fertalization. Then you dont have to worry about the surgery.
