Tubeless rims or not?

are alex dp17 rims tubeless? i have looked everywhere and cannot find a difinitive answer. if they are what about weinmann sp17 rims? are they? i ask because the area i live in is very rough on tires and i cant afford to replace them at every flat hence why i want to stick with tubed for the moment. they are cheaper to replace. any answers concerning the rims would be appreciated. and i dont want to hear about how i should patch the tire and stick with tubeless. im not comfortable doing so yet.

Both are clincher style rims for ATB or light MTB use ... i.e not heavy duty riding in rocks.

You can tell by the profile even if not specifically mentioned. I've never seen tubular rims on a mountain bike.

A rim is not a tubeless rim.

One only uses a tire and a valve that is sealed to make a tubeless system.Usually on a downhill bike.

All the tubeless tires on road bikes that I have seen are an intigrated unit.Meaning the tire was the tube.You could pump up the tire without a wheel.

I am a out of touch with alot of new stuff,and am really old school about bikes,in my defence.

Yet,the wheel you talk of has no claimes to being tubeless anywhere that I can find.

By the way,tubeless sucks.

It is for racing where a few hundred grams makes a difference.

If the total weight of the bike is that important to you then might I suggest a lighter wheelset,headset,fork, or seat,handlebar, or bottombracket,crank,

pedals,chain, or chainrings,frame,tires,brakes, or cassette,wheel skewers,fork,handlebar grips, or bottle cage bolts.

There you go,just one to two thousand dollars and you can take a whomping 3 pounds off your bike weight.Or spend 5 grand and now it is 5 pounds lighter.

Odd,you can buy a sub 21 pound mtb for  2500-3500,or a sub 19 road bike for less than 3 grand.
