when tubing should i wear a life jacket?

absolutely.  It's illegal not to (assuming you mean you are being pulled behind a powerboat).

High injury rate in tubing too due to drivers who think its "funny" to drive fast, not knowing the slingshot effect and the maximum speed ratings of tubes.

Law-wise, it's illegal to tube behind a boat without a life jacket.  I wear one anyways because I guess it's possible to get injured or something or if you're not a good swimmer, but really it's not a big deal to put one on, I always do.

yes i usually do. its safer if you get thrown off.

Depends. How well can you swim? Is the current strong? Are there lots of trees/limbs, etc in the water that might catch your tube? If you're slightly unsure, and are going to be drinking (we always do lol) just wear one.

Yes.  If something were to happen and you were thrown out of the tube and knocked out,  if you are not wearing a life jacket, you could sink before your boat could get to you.

Check your local regulations, too.  They differ state-to-state.

But for the sake of safety (and possibly legality) wearing a life jacket is important.

Absolutely. If you should wear a life jacket in a boat (which yes, you should), then high-speed travel on a bouncing, hanging mass that's much less stable than a boat is critical. Definitely wear a life jacket, you WILL fall off eventually if you go at any decent speed. Better safe than sorry.

tubing is a very relaxed thing, you just float down the river and have a soda or beer or whatever. but if your talking about like riding in a tube off the back of a boat i would wear one lol
