Tucker Hibbert in pursuit of the Winter X Games gold medal
Tucker Hibbert is eyeing the gold medal at this year’s Winter X Games SnoCross event. Considering the sort of form the man has been exhibiting for the last 5 years, it seems very likely that he would be able to grab the gold.
Having won the last 5 SnoCross events consecutively, the pro is the hot favourite this year. The progressive improvement in his performance is an indication of his persistence to hold on to his number one position.
Hibbert has prevailed over his competitors six times already and given them a reason to train harder in order to compete confidently with him and pose a real threat to his chances at making it big for the seventh time. The list of challengers has grown and
this time some serious competition is arriving to compete against him this year. While Tucker has been consistently getting the top position, eight different riders have claimed the available silver and bronze medals.
The bad news for all those who plan on crushing this legend this year is that he already has a head start. Hibbert is racing a full season on the ISOS national SnoCross series. It would come as no surprise to know the name of the person who has managed to
sweep all the finals in the 3 events held already. The momentum is definitely would definitely be carried with him to the big sporting event starting on the 27th of January.
Dan Ebert earned bronze medal in 2009 and as his father was Hibbert’s mechanic, Dan has spent a great deal of time with Tucker Hibbert. Ebert claims,
“His mental drive and his mental toughness is like none other,” Ebert said. “When you think that you've worked hard and you've really put in a good day's work and done your job, it isn't even close to what Tucker's done. I've ridden with him and he is 110
percent, all the time, and if it isn't done right it isn't done at all.”
The legendary athlete does not let all the praise elevate his confidence and ego. Rather than flaunting his sensational talent, he simply claims to take it year by year and concentrate on his own game rather than worrying about what his competition is doing.
He is a man of few words and does not waste energy on unnecessary words and remarks nor does he boast about his achievements and potential.
Winter X is considered a Super bowl for the SnoCross racers and hence the pressure associated with this event his high. The track at this mega event is fast as it’s intended to be used by the top 24 racers in the world instead of racers of moderate skill.
The talent pool is much greater at this event than in any other event of SnoCross in the entire world.
Hibbert has possession of nearly every significant record in Winter X. Adding another gold medal to his name would make him move ahead of Blair Morgan for most golds. He is expected to surpass Blair’s record total of 84 wins quite conveniently due to his
existing form. He currently sits at 61 wins.
