Tucson High boys’ volleyball team loses to Mountain View by 3-2 on Friday
Tucson High boys’ volleyball team did not have a good time on Friday as they lost to Mountain View by 3-2.
The match that followed when the two teams locked horns was thrilling and competitive. Playing with the added advantage of the home ground helped as Mountain View was able to pull off a tough win.
With the recent loss that they have suffered, Tuscan has fallen to the ninth rank in the Power Point matches. This is a decline in the ratings that Tuscan has experienced in this tournament. The number of wins that the Tuscan team had under their belt at
the start of the tournament was five. They were able to achieve this while suffering no loss at all. The number of wins that the Tuscan team now have under their belt equal to be 11 however they have also tallied seven.
If the performance of the Mountain View team is considered, it also shows an equal amount of wins and losses as reflected by the 5-0 stat. However, despite having experienced losses since, Mountain View has not experienced a downfall in their rankings.
Currently, Mountain View stands at number four position in the tournament. The number of wins that Mountain View has had so far equal to be 11. They have been able to accomplish these victories at the cost of undergoing a total number seven losses.
As soon as the first set of the match commenced, both the teams went in for the kill with determination. For the early part of the game, the Tuscans as well as Mountain View were almost neck-to-neck with each other.
As the set drew close to its final stages, the struggle between the two teams grew more intense. The scoreboard showed a tie in the later part of the game at 22-22. However, Mountain View was able to put on a spur of speed that took them to the end and they
were able to bag it at 25-22.
After losing the first set of the match, the Tuscan team was able to step up their game and give Mountain View a real challenge. After another tight start and exciting middle game, no one was sure where the tables would turn. However, Tuscan was able to
take the set this time at 25-23, making the game even.
The third set of the match went the way of Mountain View who was able to secure it at 25-22. The fourth set saw a Tuscan win at 25-12 but the final set of the match was won by Mountain View that translated in a match win.
By winning the match on Friday, Mountain View was able to redeem itself for the loss they had suffered against Tuscan earlier. The match had taken place on Tuesday and was hosted by Tuscan themselves.
