Tuesdays with Morrie question?

I love this book and it certainly changed my life, but I need help with the quote that Morrie's son said at his funeral.

"My father moved through theys of we,

singing each new leaf out of each tree

(and every child was sure that spring

danced when she heard my father sing). . ."

I've never been good with poetry. What is it saying?
