Question:

Tuition for Oxford University

by  |  earlier

I've been looking all over the website for how much tuition/dorms/etc. cost, but I can't find a straight answer. All that comes up is information on loans and things. Does anybody know how much everything costs? Also, would any costs be different for somebody from the United States?

Thanks.

  1. I hope to attend Oxford University too, and I have been concerned about the costs of studying there and so I did some research. I don't think the costs would be different for somebody from the US, but I am from Britain. I would also recommend that you apply for accomdation in the college where you are studying as houses and flats (apartments) in Oxford (the city) are generally very high.

I worked out from the amount of meals and the cost of them on average for a year and added the cost of accomodation offered by the university how much I would need to spend a year there. Then you may need to multiply it by three or four depending on how long your course is.

    - Tuition costs are £3,145 per year (roughly $6,300).

    - Accmodation in the college is £3,150 per year (roughly $6,300).

    - Meals provided by the college cost £1500 per year (roughly $3,000)

    - Living costs (clothes, books etc) are £1,850 per year (roughly $3,700).

Bringing this to a total of £9,645 (roughly $20,000) per year and then if you multiply by three to get £28,935 (roughly $60,000). Remember to multiply four times if it's a four year course.

This does not include holidays (mid-term breaks). If you want more information, just ask in the additional details. You should look around the Oxford University website and listen to the podcasts:

Hope this helps, good luck. :-)
