Tulsa Shock, San Antonio Silver Stars, Los Angeles Sparks and Seattle Storm win - WNBA Roundup 8th July
A total of four matches were played in the WNBA on Sunday, 8th July with Tulsa Shock getting past Washington Mystics. San Antonio Silver Stars went over to Newark and defeated New York Liberty while Los Angeles Sparks and Seattle Storm managed to get easy wins against Atlanta Dream and Phoenix Mercury.
1.   Tulsa Shock versus Washington Mystics
In the first matchup of the night, Tulsa Shock managed to carve out a 78-62 win over Washington Mystics, their third in a row.
Ivory Latta led the way with 18 points while Temeka Johnson and Glory Johnson managed to chip in 17 and 16 points respectively.
On the other hand, Crystal Langhorne was the lone Washington player who managed to cross into double figures with 13 points in the worst scoring output of the season by the mystics.
2.   San Antonio Silver Stars versus New York Liberty
Powered by Jia Perkins’ season high performance of 24 points San Antonio Silver Stars managed to beat New York Liberty 94-81 on Sunday night.
Perkins effort was equally matched up by Becky Hammon who managed to add 23 points in the ball game while Sophia Young chipped in with 21 points of her own.
The Liberty were paced by a 25 point effort from Essence Carson and a 23 point showing from Cappie Pondexter. That however was not enough for New York on the night.
3.   Los Angeles Sparks versus Atlanta Dream
In the third matchup of the night, Los Angeles Sparks managed their way to a 79-63 win over Atlanta Dream.
Kristi Toliver continued her spectacular run of form by managing 19 points and at the same time Candace Parker recorded a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Atlanta had three players scoring in double figures, Sancho Lyttle leading the way with 17 points.
4.   Seattle Strom versus Phoenix Mercury
The fourth and final match on Sunday night saw Seattle Storm manage their way to an easy 83-68 victory over Phoenix Mercury.
Sue Bird hammered a game high of 31 points which was just a tad below her career high figures. She was 10 of 11 from the field. On the other hand, Phoenix only had DeWanna Bonner crossing the double figure mark with 12 points in the game.
