Question:

Tumble Dryer Advice Please!?

Ive just bought a tumble dryer, and was looking for some advice on what I can and cant tumble dry. I know most things have a lable which tells you, and I will check this, but is there any general rules of what can and cant be put in there?

Im having a baby soon, can the vests/baby grows go in??

Also, does anyone know what the options 'cupboard dry' and 'iron dry' might mean?

Thanks

  1. Definitely no wool!  Do not tumble dry bras either.  I always use the lower heat setting, although it takes longer, it is much kinder to fabrics which may shrink.  Cupboard dry means completely dry - as you would want your towels etc.  Iron dry means it will be slightly damp to make ironing easier.

  2. generally dont put anything wool in there. it will shrink. dont have the heat on too hot. and they are really expensive to run, so hang things over doors etc. overnight to cut down on electricity costs. babygrows and vests will be fine though

  3. Baby stuff will be fine.

Cupboard dry is an instruction telling you to let the garment dry at room temperature.

Iron dry is an instruction telling you to iron the garment while it is still a little damp - and this will dry it.
