  1. jump rope jump roping works out almost everything if you do jump roping everyday then you will lose some weight  but also do some sit up or crunches to for a little xtra attention to your stomach

  2. I am the exact same way I just want to tone up my stomach like each side and my abs. My trainer at the gym said to 100 crunches in the morning when I wake up and 100 when I go to bed. When I'm at the gym I use an ab crunch machine and do 100  on that and use this machine that turns and gets your love handles I do about 30 on each side then switch and do the other and repeat. I start seeing results the next week when I do these exercises and notice my stomach getting smaller.

    Good luck =)

  3. by next week? no that's not enough time... and ignore the guy who said do sit ups... while they will develop the muscles in your mid section it will not reduce the fat.  spot training NEVER reduces the fat.  the ONLY way is cardio...

WHOA i didnt notice the other disaster answers.... cutting out carbs is a BAD idea... insulin is meant to bring down your blood sugar NOT store fat... if you are exercising you NEED carbs it is vital.  glycogen (the stored form of glucose) is our prime source of fuel during exercise... this person is 100% misinformed!!

now for the person who said to restrict your calories to 1000 a day this is also a TERRIBLE idea.  when you restrict calories your metabolism slows down and you start to store FAT and eat away at muscle slowing your metabolism down even more... when you begin to eat normally it will still be storing excess fat and you will gain your weight right back...

do it the right way... eat small portions all thoughout the day and do aerobic exercise... end of story

  4. You have to become more active.

I elevated my computer by putting a big box under it so I have to stand while using it.  And move legs around while working on it. (or walk in place).

Try to steer clear of potatoes, rice, anything white and starchy.

Do some sit ups while watching tv.

Stretch frequently during the day, putting your arms way up over your head and tightening then loosening your muscles, also stretch and tighten then loosen your leg muscles.

If you do this every day and make minor modifications in your diet, the weight will come off.  Good luck.

  5. You need to cut out carbs. As carbs make your blood sugar increase which releases insulin. Insulin stores fat and stops your body from using it as energy. If you do exercise then you'll just be building your muscle under the fat. So you need to sort out your diet first. Plus side is, if this is your only problem area then thats where the fat will come off first.

    :o)

  6. Calorie restriction. Aim for about 1000 calories a day (make sure you take a good multivitamin). And situps wont make you thinner. They just work out the muscle.  If you have fat on top of your abs you won't be able to see them. So I would suggest doing about 1 hour of cardio a day, minimum.

  7. do sit-ups just for tummy do around one hundred a day and it less.

  8. i dont know about a week, depends on how much you got. i had a baby dec 06 and another jan 08, so i have more then enough, but i have been used to eating small meals through out the whole day(about every two hours)

when i wake up i do 10 leg lifts in every direction

up, down, side ways, in a circle, then on my side, then on my stomach. i also do them before i go to bed. Cardio is the BEST way to get rid of fat so go take a walk, run in place for ten minutes, do anything that gets your heart going for ten minutes!!

i have been doing this for the past two months and have gone from a size 12 to a 5!! now i am just trying to tone the belly and thighs!!

    Good luck!

  9. I totally agree with Dave.

There is no such thing as SPOT REDUCTION. Doing sit-ups doesn't mean you use the tummy fat as the energy source.

You need to do cardio. Maybe you will have better skin and be feeling better if you regularly work out and cut off junk food, but it's most likely that you won't see visible change around your tummy by next week. You need to give yourself more time to achieve your goal.

    Good luck.
