  1. no

  2. We started our son right at 2 weeks on tummy time, its good for them!  It helps to build their neck strength and develop coordination skills for later on.  Just do it little bit by little bit - they may never really love it and that's ok too!

  3. 5 minutes seems perfectly normal.  He'll have super strong neck muscles in no time!  Roll up a baby blanket to put under his chest, just as a prop and one where his forehead would land, just in case.

  4. My sister has been doing "tummy time" with her baby since he was 2 weeks old. Her doctor said to start early so that they can learn to keep their head up! So I would say that 6 weeks is fine, and if he only likes it for 5 minutes, then only do it for 5 minutes ! :-)

  5. We did tummy time the first day home from the hospital, at first they do not like it so if you just started it may take some time.  Try a baby mirror and some black and white soft rattles to get his attention so he'll lift his head.  That early on just do a few minutes at a time but several times a day.

  6. I don't believe it's too early.  My son is one-year-old and when I used to put him on his tummy he absolutely hated it.  One thing you should understand (especially if this is your first) is that everything will happen when they are ready.  Don't get all caught up in the hoopla over somebody else's kid who's already doing this or that.  Your baby will do everything in his own time.

I used to worry about why my son wasn't rolling over or why he hated tummy time so much.  Then one day he just started rolling over and pushing himself up.  Then he just started crawling; and later on just started walking.  I promise that's how it happens!  Just take this time to enjoy him because they grow up SO FAST and soon he's going to be too independent to be your little man anymore.  Hope this helped!

  7. Six wks is fine for supervised tummy time.

And if you manage to get one or two 5 minute sessions a day then you are doing so well! My son had terrible reflux and screamed if he was lied down and screamed harder if he was put on his stomach. He eventually learned to roll over at 6 months and since then he has hit all the milestones right on time if not early (crawling, walking, running). So don't stress about it!

  8. This is a good age for tummy time.  If you wait until your baby gets older he won't like it.  I did that mistake with my third child.  My baby would cry so much during tummy time.  Pediatrician was concerned because he was five months and not rolling over yet and referred him to physical theraphy.  I learned that if you start early and have a variety or toys baby would actually enjoy tummy time.

  9. I have a 9 week old baby and she absolutely hates tummy time.  In my opinion 6 weeks is fine as long as you watch him well.  This will help build his arm, shoulder, and back muscles up.  I've spoken to others about this as well.  I think alot of baby's just don't like tummy time.

  10. It is never too early, I started my daughter at one week old. They won't like it for very long and this is normal. When they start to fuss just take them off their tummy and try again later. But make sure to keep it up as often as you can as this helps them build their neck muscles.

  11. Tummy time is encouraged at this age. But her is the thing don't stress if your baby does not like it. My son hated it we would put him down and he would cry after a 1 min of it. I stressed out so much over tummy time. I thought he would never rol over or crawl i drove myself crazy. But my son is now 10 months old and almost walking. he crawls but prefers being on his feet. So if your baby does not like it keep trying but don't stress.

Good luck and enjoy that handsome little man!

  12. My daughter was the same at that age so we'd only do it for a couple of minutes at a time because you don't want him hating it. Gradually over time she just got to like it more and more. Now at 18 weeks old she will be on her front for 20 -30 mins at a time and she can lifet her head, shoulders and top half clean off the floor.
