Question:

Tuna/cottage cheese sandwich? Good to eat?

School is starting so I won't be able to eat a cooked lunch often. What I was wondering was if I make a tuna and cottage cheese sandwich the night before and put it on the refrigerator, will it be good to eat the next day? Or will the bread be harder and not as good?

I won't have time to make one in the morning or I'll miss my bus.

  1. I think that the bread will be soggy. Try putting the tuna on bread and having the cottage cheese in a  container to put on when you are ready to eat.

  2. They both sound utterly disgusting. Eat at Subways if you're so health conscious.

  3. What you might want to do is to take the tuna and cottage cheese in a separate container, along with another package of bread slices, and assemble the sandwich just before you eat it. That way the mixture won't make the bread mushy as it sits, nicely wrapped up, in the 'fridge overnight.

OR, set your alarm clock for 20 minutes earlier and make it fresh in the morning! That way, you could also "nuke" some soup and bring it along in a thermos to have with your sandwich later on. Just a thought.

    Enjoy school.

  4. get up earlier just enough to put the sammich together OR the night before put it in tupperwares that will fit into a lunch bag that has insulation and the ability to carry one of those freeze cubes.

    works for me every time.

  5. The beauty of tuna salads (tuna and mayo or tuna and cottage cheese) is that it can stay for quite some time in the fridge, so long as it is covered well. Just make the spread mix a day before and store it in a Tupperware or a zipper bag. Bread will sog up if you use it the night before. Just spread your tuna in the morning on your bread and enjoy!

  6. the bread will be soggy. the night before make the filling and put it in tupperware and set your alarm clock 5 min earlier and assemble the sandwich. no other way.
