Tuna in the can - some smells & some doesn't. Why?

Is this due to the water used in the can or what? I bought some typical brands which smelled awful. The brand at my natural food store basically was almost odorless. I'm wondering why, if it's all out of the same oceans that some smell more than others. (cots)

Tuna is great food..Yet the smell is unbearable.. The smell depends on what type of tuna and how well the company cleans it.

I think all tuna have a strong smell.

It will be what it is preserved in. You can get a variety of things such as vinegar, brine, olive oil, tomato juice etc.

Fresh sardines on the beach are just cooked as they are caught, nothing is prepared except they put sea salt on them to help take the skin off, but I prefer them without sal (Sin sal)

Wrong section.  This forum is to ask questions about vegetarianism.  Vegetarian do not eat tuna.  Ask this in "Other food and drink"
