How to tune to the free channels transmitted by other satellites, in a set top box provided by the dish TV - sun direct - operator ? Even though the option is there, normally we get only the channels set by the operator. Is there any way to bye pass it? Is it possible if we replace the set top box provided by the operator with another one purchased from market ?

  1. Just watch Dish Interactive and may be it will help you out.

  2. In order to tune your set top box to a particular channel you would need to to change the direction of the Dish . But when you do that you will lose the regular channels that you are paying for.You would also need a device to unscramble whichever channel you want to watch ( other than dish) To Turn the Dish to another direction you need to loosen the horizontal nuts so that it can swivel sideways and also loosen the vertical nuts so that it can swivel up and down. If you dont get it exactly right you will lose what channels you are are already getting.  You need to Check the direction where the signal strength is maximum ( This you can view on your TV screen in the Dish Set UP) Tighten the dish nuts  when at the maximum signal strength
