Question:

Tuning guitar to drop B?

I've been playing Slipknot on my guitar and it requires a low tuning of B F# B E G# C#... the problem is that the funky tuning is breaking my high E string. Does anybody have any tips on keeping that string from breaking? maybe using higher gauged strings... any help would be great

  1. Tune all strings down 3 full steps and Use a Capo at 3rd fret!!

What Gauge string are you using?

Remember, As you drop in gauge you may gain bending ability but you also Lose natural sustain, vibrato & Chromatic response.

  2. i dont have a gutair

  3. Ive been playing guitar for several years now and ive never broken a string by tuning it down. what i do is just tune my whole guitar down to just plain drop C and it sounds just fine. it will work for almost any slipknot song.
