Turallure to record first success of the season in the Grade 2 Firecracker Handicap
The Charles Lopresti trained, Turallure, will be making a comeback in the Grade 2 Firecracker Handicap, which will take place at Churchill Downs on 1st July, 2012, where he will attempt to ace the 1 mile track.
The Donna Arnold owned horse will break out of post number 4, and he will be ridden by rider, Julien Leparoux, who is flying in from New York for the race.
Recently, the five-year-old runner has shown that he is in good form, when turned in work-outs in Keeneland on 26th June, 2012, where he completed four furlongs in an impressive 49 3/5 seconds.
The son of Wando, out of mare Personal Allure is hoping that he can land the first victory of his season in this event.
The runner competed in the Grade 1 Maker's 46 Mile at Keeneland on 13th May, 2012. Despite his best efforts, the Four D Stable bred finished second to the C. McGaughey trained, Data Link by a small margin of a neck in the 1
mile event.
With a high impost of 122 pounds, Turallure has set his sights on the prize, and the first victory of his season.
It is a given that his runner will not be without obstacles, since he is competing against the Michael J. Bruder owned Guys Reward, who is second in weights with 118 pounds.
Trained by Dale L. Romans, the five-year-old will be running for his hat-trick, and will use every chance he gets to land the third consecutive victory of the season.
The son of Grand Reward, out of mare Beach View, claimed the Open Verse Stakes by half-length over the Philip Oliver trained, Seruni, at Churchill Downs on 9th June, 2012, which covered a distance of 1 1/16 miles.
It will be interesting to see a show-down between these two runners, since both of them have something at stake.
While, Turallure is fighting for the first victory of his season, Guys Reward’s winning streak is on the line.
Seruni returns to the track, and will be seeking for redemption to regain his lost glory.
