Turallure’s post number 2 says it all in the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic at Churchill Downs
The 5-year-old Donna Arnold owned horse, Turallure, will make his second start of the 2012 season in the Grade 1, $500,000 Woodford Reserve Turf Classic at Churchill Downs over the venue’s turf course at about 1 1/8 miles against 10 other 4-year-old and
above colts and geldings on 5 May, 2012.
Charles Lopresti trained horse debuted his 2012 season in the Grade 1 Maker’s 46 Mile which he missed by a whisker to winner Data Link at a mile over at Keeneland’s turf course on 13 April, 2012, under jockey Julien Leparoux.
The T. Bush trained son of Stormy Atlantic, Get Stormy, won last edition of the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic, where she used a slow pace to her advantage which went uncontested, eventually breaking through the wire first.
However, this time around front runners like, Little Mike and Turbo Compressor will set a much demanding pace, which will spice up things with Get Stormy forced t come off the pace, and the spectators might see a gruelling duel between Turallure and the
title holder and the deep stretch.
Though this kind of a setting to the race will definitely favour Turallure, who comes off the pace magnificently, and on the fast Churchill Downs dirt track, his late runs could be all the more lethal, and that is exactly why he has been sent as the 5 to
2 favourite at the morning line.
Bred in Kentucky by Four D Stable, Turallure’s customary late rally will be highly benefitted from his post position for the Woodford Reserve, which is post number 2.
Under jockey Julien Leparoux, he can save ground in the early part of the race and track leaders, and when it is really required to take the initiative, Turallure can always find a second wing and bolt past all completion.
The son of Wando, out of Wekiva Springs mare Personal Allure, Turallure really came to life last year at backend of the season where in three races he won twice and finished as a runner up once.
Winning the massively pursed Woodbine Mile was one of the highlights of his 2011 season.
