Turbo 350 transmission problems?

Any ideas on why a TH350 trans would be blowing oil out the filler tube? Transmission is functioning properly in all gears, oil coolers and line are clear and fluid is at proper level.

  1. some of those had a vent tube on them, maybe it,s stopped up.you could have it too full. it,s a good thing it,s coming out the filler tube instead of blowing the pump seal.

  2. Sounds like clogged veins, see the veins carry the fluid after the torque converter pressurizes them, then the clutch pack is what works, wich is what you feel when you put it in drive.Or maybe it's got to much fluid in it.Happy labor day, bye.

  3. That's REALLY weird. The 2 things that jumped out at me are a possibly clogged vent, causing pressure to build up and send the oil up the tube, or ...well no  thats all. If the filter was filthy it wouldn't shift properly. Check the vent at the top near the tailshaft. If that isn't it I'm stumped.

    Good luck

  4. If it is coming out the base of the tube you just need to replace the grommet on the tube end.

If it is coming out the top of the tube you probably have a plugged vent.

The vent is a small pipe that swivels on the top of the transmission. very hard to get at when the trans is in the car but it does hang down the side of the trans a bit. If you can blow some air into that pipe to clear it you will probably be O.K.

    Good Luck!
