Here we take a glance on the key career records and prominent skills of each of the trio.
Turbo Island
William Amos’s brilliant gelding possesses outstanding track record. Out of his total 8 starts to date, the veteran runner has won 4 with big margins. However, the seven-year-old got pulled out in his last two races---one in April 2010 and second in December
2011.
Since his last outing, the black gelding has been undergoing tough training in school. He is likely to make a strong comeback at Wetherby track where he will be running for the first time in his career. He has as high as 75 percent chances to finish first.
Polar Gunner
The Malcolm Jefferson-trained black gelding too has excellent track record. He has won 12 out of his total 42 races so far. The veteran runner’s last victory came on March 5, 2011. Following this, he finished third in a race on May 11.
In his last start at Sedgefield on January 5, 2012, the 15-year-old performed nicely and grabbed second position which has perked up his confidence to some extent. In today’s contest, Polar Gunner is expected to fight well and finish at least 2nd.
Storm Surge
After winning a big race in November 2011, Martin Todhunter’s gelding bagged one more splendid victory in the very next month at Haydock. Running as 3-1 favourite in his last race on December 29, the nine-year-old finished fourth.
It shows that the talented runner owns enough firepower which will help him gain well today. He has 70 percent chances to finished third in the race.
