Turbo upgrade sr20???

Question

I am considering installing a turbo in my 95 Nissan 200sx, which has an sr20de. I know sometimes it is necessary to upgrade the fuel delivery system when installing a turbo, but if I install a turbo from an sr20det in my sr20de will I still have to upgrade the fuel delivery and the ecu? Because they are essentially the same motor, except one comes stock w/ a turbo.

You are well aware of your upgrade but it is VERY critical that you adjust your parts along with your turbo! The stock SR20DE does not hold the same torque as an SR20DET! If you slap a turbo into the stock... it might break your engine bay! Try to upgrade your fuel line, ECU for sure, and your headers with your turbo! Thats a start!

yes you do...the turbo will require more fuel...and the ecu needs a turbo maping...so either chip it or get a stand alone system...or go with the the sr20 vtech head...pulls just as hard as the turbo but is undetectable by the cops...

Depends on the size of the turbo and how much power you're trying to put out. You could turbo your stock motor with a t25 and not have to change anything besides the ecu. which you could use sfac or something of that sort or even go with a calum ecu which is about 300-350 i believe. he modifies your existing ecu to basically be tunable and actually burns a base map for whatever you're setup is to the ecu. t25 is at the most maybe 400 or so...most likely around the 275-350 range for the manifold with turbo and lines. you may want to upgrade to 370cc injectors to be safe but you can use the stock fuel pump, stock maf ect. with a t25 you could easily be closer to the 13's 1/4 mile times. but you will have to drill and tap the block and all that stuff from the oil return and a few various things...but overall...its more than just slapping the turbo on, but yes it will work if setup correctly and you can keep all your stock fuel components besides your ecu
