Im not planning on doing it to the car i have now, i just want some insight. I drive a 2000 mazda protege 1.6L. compression ratio is 10:1. how would i figure out what to bring the ratio down to (on this or any car) to safely use boost roughly around 7-12 PSI?

  1. You could leave the compression stock and use 5 psi of boost or use lower compression pistons (8:9 to 9:5) and use 7-12 PSI .Of course no forget a good tuning made a lot of difference whatever you choose.
