Turboprops?

Which commercial turboprop do you favor the most?

ATR-42/72

Dash-8-400

Emb-120 Brasilia

Dornier 328

.....

If you ever flown on a turboprop, I would really appreciate a review on the flight and how you like the aircraft. Thank You.

The Handley-Page HP-137 Jetstream with Garrett turbopropeller 331engines.

The Convair 580 and 5800 are pretty fast.  

The Canadair CL-44's range is pretty good.

Of that group, I prefer the E120, for no particular reason.

I've flown several turboprops, but not from that group, either.  The Turbo Commander 980 was nice (yes, I know I'm dating myself), but the King Air 200 remains my favorite.

I would pick the Dash- 8 -400Q turboprop. You will not see many ATR-42/72 ,Emb-120 Brasilia or Dornier 328's in passenger service any more as more commuters are using regional jets now.

Saab 340 is a fantastic aircraft, just like there cars there well built and Ive heard many stories from pilots flying them about the amazing maneuverability of them.... ;-) They know from ferry flights with no passengers hahaha

The Q400(Dash 8) is by far my favorite, brand new aircraft that achieve a great fuel economy compared to the CRJ line of aircraft and much more cost effective.... Whats really amazing about this aircraft it flies at a speed just a tad bit slower than a CRJ.... This prop has come a long way from the beginning props and is much quieter now too!!!

Dash-8 Q400

its from bombardier, third largest aircraft manufacturer

and some are assembled in my hometown.

great safety record too
