Turbulent Descent victory in the Test Stakes 2011- Highlight of her career
The Grade 1 Test Stakes is open to three-year-old fillies and it was run for the first time in 1922, won by Emotion, who was trained by George M. Odom for owners, Robert L. Gerry, Sr.
The tradition is alive and this year, the grand event will be hosted on 25th August, 2012.
Last year this race was a success and a source of pride and joy for trainer, Mike Puype, whose charge, Turbulent Descent, came out on top.
Paired with rider David Flores, the daughter of Congrats, foaled by mare Roger's Sue, completed the race in 1 minute and 24.17 seconds.

She finished 3 ¾ lengths before the Amy Tarrant trained/owned, Pomeroys Pistol, whereas the third place was secured by Roman Treasure, who is trained by Michael Hushion.
The fourth, fifth, and sixth place were taken by Her Smile, Coax Liberty, and Salty Strike, respectively.
The rain during the race did not affect the performance of Turbulent Descent, who kept on accelerating even when things didn’t look too good.
The pace of the race was set by Roman Treasure, and she was chased by American Lady, Pomeroys Pistol and Turbulent Descent in second, third and fourth.
She completed the first quarter in 23.02 seconds and ½ mile in 45.85 seconds. This is when David Flores made the move and took the lead as he stated:
“At the half-mile pole, I just pointed her to the outside and she started making her run.”
Currently, the Florida bred runner holds an overall record of 7-2-0 out of 11 starts and has earnings of $901,640.
After this brilliant performance, the filly lost her zeal as she finished 5th in the Grade 1 Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint and 6th in the Grade 1 La Brea Stakes.
However, she stepped up her game and made a comeback in the Desert Stormer Handicap at the Betfair Hollywood Park which covered a distance of six furlongs in her seasonal debut this year.
The bay filly still has an immense amount of potential.  She is now owned by Coolmore Racing and under the wing of trainer, Todd Pletcher.
