Turf roll question ?

Question

I wanna lay my garden floor with turf roll, but like B and Q and Hoembase don't give any sizes. What should I do, where can I find out. Is there like a standard size for turf.

Also, what are the preperations for laying down turf??? Thanx

Unfortunately their is not a standard size.You want to purchase it by the square yard.Check for the nearest sod farm to your home.It is sold by them by the pallet which is a set amount of yards, usually 40 to 60.Many will deliver a single pallet to your home when they have a delivery in your area that is not a full truck load.If this is not an option available to you,ask your local nursery for a price per yard on a full pallet.Most will order an extra pallet for you when they place their next order, and sell it to you at a discounted price.As for soil preparation,you want to till the area well,rake out rock and debris that are brought to the surface,add a starter fertilizer to the surface. and rake it in as you smooth the surface.Turn your rake prong side up, and go over it lightly with the back to do the final leveling.
