Question:

Turkey Bacon Pre-cooked?

My husband said that (Maple Leaf) Turkey Bacon comes pre-cooked, similar to sandwich meat. You just heat it up or cook it so it turns slightly brown and/or less chewy (turkey bacon apparently doesn't turn crispy unless you burn it).

Is this true, or am I risking food poisoning by eating it before it's dark???

  1. My husband liked his bacon soft(half raw). I would have a fit. If you cook it on a little lower temp on the stove it will get brown and it will be done enough that you do not have to worry about food poisoning. I like my bacon soft sometimes. When I want it crispy I cook it a little higher heat but not the pre-cooked. I donot like burnt bacon. But you will not get food poisonong doing it like this.Pre-cooked is usually heated in the microwave.I would say it probly does come like that but check your local grocer. Just try cooking it at a slightly lower temperature on the stove .
