Former Bayern Munich midfielder, Hamit Altintop, has revealed that he could well have gone to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 on a free transfer but instead went with the option of playing for Real Madrid. The versatile Turkish just ended a four-year stint with the Bundesliga outfit
and was available as a free agent after the club decided not to extend his contract any further.
The 28-year-old, then, signed a four-year deal with the Spanish giants on May 19, 2011. He mentioned that there were a host of English Premier League clubs interested in acquiring his services but he thought that the Spanish game would be more challenging
and at the same time, more demanding.
Altintop spent four years with Bayern Munich after joining the club in 2007 from Schalke 04. The Turk managed 63 League appearances for the Bundesliga side and bagged just seven goals. He has also made 55 International appearances for the Turkish national
side and has six goals to date.  Twice he was part of the Bundesliga winning side (2007/08 and 2009/10) and also went into the final of UEFA Champions League, where his team finished runners-up to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan in 2009/10 season.
The midfielder admitted that he was in no mood to come to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 and had all his focus upon joining the Barclays Premier League. He then added that it was his agent who forced him to join La Liga saying that there would not be any better option than joining
Los Blancos as it automatically leaves one with a chance of winning silverware on a consistent basis.
The Turkey International added, “It would have been much easier to stay in the Bundesliga or go to England, but the challenge of playing for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid piqued my interest. Jose Mourinho and I spoke in English and he sounded very upbeat and convinced. He
knows I can play in several different positions."
Altintop will now start his new journey under Jose Mourinho and would hope for improved playing chances in the presence of some of the best players in the world.
