  1. You can't travel anywhere on an expired passport, so you'll have to use the American one unless you get the Turkish one renewed. Using the American passport primarily will also solve the Turkish army problem.

  2. I would steer clear if I were you. My dad actually had a friend who went there for a vacation to see family after not being to the country for years and years. They actually got him at the airport on the way back out. Guy had to extend his stay quite a bit...

  3. i dont think so your 42 years old, you are no good to the army at this point. therefore they cannot arrest you or have you serve.

  4. Until you are officially kicked out of Turkish citizenship (this happens by a decree from the council of ministers), You are considered as a turkish citizen.

US or any other passports do not mean anything in this case.

You'll get arrested as soon as they can trace your citizenship record, whether you use US passport when you enter into the country or not.

Believe me, this frequently happens. You may be lucky. But if they catch you, you will be sent to the nearest army conscription office.

Call the nearest Turkish Consulate and ask for help. Even if you can get into the country with an US passport, you are under serious risk.

I know people who got arrested and sent to army camps, at their fifties :)

  5. If you haven't paid your yearly dues or done military most likely the Turkish government can without a passport from you. Even if you agree to do it they will issue you an emergency Turkish passport (providing you give proof of where your going) that will only be valid for a few months.

Go on the American one only. Also, avoid going to Turkey unless you want to actually do the military service.
