Turkish giants looking to drop lifeline to Tottenham Hotspur outcast
Reports have started to surface over the last couple of days that Turkish giants, Galatasaray are looking to move in for Tottenham Hotspur’s out of favour and rather outcast-ted midfielder, David Bentley.
The player has been nothing more than an extra name on the squad list for the team over the course of the last couple of months and the Turkish team is looking to end the player’s misery, as they plan to launch a move for him as
early as January.
Bentley, ever since moving to Tottenham, has failed to make his name on the first team list at the club and has long been rumoured to be one of the more easily disposable players by the manager, Harry Redknapp. In fact, this branding
of the player to be expendable to the club has seen him being linked to numerous teams in the past.
The twenty-six-year old, on the other hand, knows that if he stands any chance of ever playing for England or even another team in the Premier League, then he needs to get somewhere he sees far more field time than the one he is
currently witnessing at the North London team.
On the other hand, every opportunity that the player was given has appeared to be nothing more than a waste, as the player who was supposed to replace David Beckham seems to do nothing right other than taking set pieces. As a result
of the lack of versatility to his game-style, his demand in the market has hit rock-bottom.
Tottenham are also currently looking to strengthen their footing in the Premier League and in Europe. As a result, the team is looking to bring in some new faces in January, for which they happen to have all the funds in the world.
However, if a player such as Bentley was to be sold, then it would be nothing more than a win-win situation for the team. Not only would they get some extra money, but they would also cut back on their weekly player wages.
Galatasaray, on the other hand, have become well reputed for offering Premier League outcasts a second chance and are currently hot favourites to do the same with Bentley.
Most experts are also predicting that a move for the former England international to the Turkish outfit is something that would not only benefit the player, but also both the clubs involved.
