  1. its worth nothing, it is the old turkish lira(which is worth nothing) the 6 zeros were taken off a couple of years ago due to inflation,

on the New Turkish Lira(the current and valid currency in Turkey) there isnt a 500,000.00 bill

if he had found it a couple years back he could have changed it for about 40 american cents, its really not even worth changing

besides its not right to take what isn't rightfully yours,

  2. its about 4 dollars

  3. That's old money. The equivalent now is 50 kurus = half a lira = about 42 cents.

    Keep it as a souvenir.

  4. Hi Ash,

This is old money, we are using YTL ...

So, 500000 Turkish Lira = 50 YKr (New Kurus )

No need change, just save it, if I were You ...

    Add.

    500000 TRY is not 500000 TL ...

    I mean 1000000 TL = 1 YTL

    Think like that ...

  5. Yes tell him to go to the central bank and change the money to riyals, then to buy a summerhouse in jeddah and a fancy sportscar.
