With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-Vittek-c31282 out injured for a long duration, the Karadeniz Fırtınası manager Şenol Güneş is keen on signing a new striker in the upcoming transfer window. However, the Turks might face stiff competition from the likes of English
Premier League sides, Fulham FC, Tottenham Hotspur and Ligue 1 side Montpellier Herault for the signature of the troubled striker.
The striker himself knows that he might never be able to stamp his authority at Marseille whose coach Didier Deschamps clearly does not see him as part of his plans for the club any longer.
A few weeks ago, Gignac had a bust-up in a training session with Deschamps. Though the issue was resolved quite expertly by Marseille president Vincent Labrune, it is highly unlikely that the Frenchman’s services would be retained after the winter transfer
window ends.
Gignac was asked to find a club in the summer transfer window this year as Marseille were looking for a new striker. The striker was about to leave for London to join Fulham but he was then told to return to the club after Les Phoceens failed to find a suitable
striker for the club.
The striker signed for Marseille from Toulouse for 18 million Euros and has scored just 8 goals in 32 Ligue 1 appearances for the Rhone giants.
