Turkish passort and milatry?

willl my boyfriend still have to do milatry service for the renewal of his turkish passport , even though he has a british passport. he as never done service for turkey, so would he have to do it this time for the renewal of his turkish passport? if he married a british woman i.e me, would he get him out of it ?

It doesnt matter whatever the case is, any man over 21 should join the army  unless he has a health excuse.

For people living abroad for more than 3 years there are some exceptions. Instead of serving for 6 - 12 or 15 months according to te education level and rank, it is allowed for those to join the army for 28 days with a little payment.

He needs to drop his Turkish citizenship in order not to serve in the army.

He can pay around 5000 Euro to serve for 21 days. That's the minimum. Look up 'bedelli askerlik'.

No, his marital status is irrelevant. If he wants to retain the passport, he has to complete the military service. If he has a worker status there in UK, the service should be around 28 days and some money, the amount of which I do not know, the TR consulate can give an exact figure for both, though.

If he has a British passport why does he want to do Military training is the question.  He could well relinquish his Turkish Citizenship and never do it at all.

However, if wants to remain a Turkish Citizen then he is required by law to undertake his military service like any other 20 year old male person.  You have received some good answers in the above posts, marrying a foreigner does not negate your national obligations.  The only way to negate that is to relinquish his citizenship rights and responsibilities.

i dont think he would be free,cause military service is so strict in Turkey and i think u can be separate a few months for his military duty.But he can delay that until,i guess,he is 30
