Turkiye International 2012: Chloe Magee beats Sashina Vignes Waran to bag Women’s Singles Title
Ireland’s talented players Chloe Magee continued putting up superb show and secured Women’s Singles title after defeating her higher ranked opponent Sashina Vignes Waran in final encounter at Turkiye International 2012 on Saturday, December 22, in Turkey.
The impressive Chloe, who was the third seed in the main draw of the championship, showed her aggression on court and remained successful in beating Sashina who was top seeded shuttler in Women’s Singles category.
Magee played with remarkable precision in the final battle as she did not show any mercy to her higher ranked challenger and eventually won the battle in straight games with a reasonable margin on the score board.
On the other hand, the top seeded Sashina failed to play positive badminton as she could not dominate the pace of rallies against her lower ranked Irish challenger and lost the match in 38 minutes.
Chloe delivered extremely well from the starting rallies of first game as she played with spectacular speed and easily took over the charge of rallies.
The lofty skills and tricky game plan assisted Chloe to stay in lead and she did not let her challenger to dominate the pace of rallies in the opening half.
Until the one-minute break, the in-form Irish lady got a strong position on score board by establishing a sufficient lead.
After the break, the higher ranked Sashina tried to show aggression but could not take charge of rallies as she was a bit slow in the arena and remained trailing.
The impressive Chloe continued hitting powerful smashes in gaps and remained successful in taking the opening game with a reasonable 21-18 score on the board.
In the second set, the top seeded Sashina increased her speed and played attacking badminton but she failed to create a comfortable gap on the board at the early stage.
Both ladies progressed closely in the opening half and no one could set up a comfortable lead until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game interval, they continued showing up scintillating performance all the way and reached at 21-21 when Chloe showed her brilliance and took the game with a dramatic margin of 23-21.
The impressive Chloe remained successful in winning the Women’s Singles title after ending up the final battle in straight games with a decent 21-18 and 23-21 score on the board.
