Turkiye International 2012: Chloe Magee trounces Stefani Stoeva in Women’s Singles semi-final
Ireland’s Chloe Magee continued her staggering performance and stormed into Women’s Singles final after defeating Bulgaria’s Stefani Stoeva in semi-final encounter of Turkiye International 2012 in Turkey, on Friday, December 21.
The third seeded Magee, who showed a great confidence in all of her matches in the championship, played with remarkable precision and she easily outplayed the eighth seeded Stefani in just 29 minutes.
Magee started her campaign in semi-final battle in a dominating fashion and she maintained her control over the pace of rallies all the way to end it up in straight games with a completely crushing margin.
On the contrary, the lower ranked Stefani tried to put up strong show but she could not create any trouble for her in-form Irish rival and eventually knelt down in a vulnerable fashion without winning any set.
Right from the starting points, both shuttlers played at their best speed and tried their best to create an early lead. However, it was Magee who showed her brilliance and started to build lead.
The hard-to-learn variations in Magee’s shots and her impressive shot placement were the major factors that created the difference between both participants. She managed a reasonable lead until the end of opening half.
After the one-minute interval, the lower ranked Stefani tried her best to play positive badminton but remained unable to take charge of rallies and remained trailing on the board.
It was a smooth ride for the in-form Magee who did not face any considerable trouble from her rival and eventually won the first game with a staggering 21-14 total on the board.
In the second set of this semi-final encounter, the in-form Magee continued her aggressive and positive play without showing any mercy to her challenger and managed a decent lead until the end of first half.
After the break, Magee maintained her focus in the arena and kept the pace of rallies high and managed to wrap up the second set with a comfortable 21-16 difference on score board.
The third seeded Magee emerged as the winner against Stefani in straight games of 29 minutes with a completely controlled margin of 21-14 and 21-16.
