As a Turkish Cypriot (individually) I am already a EU citizen. And yes, I do want Turkey to join EU, because Turkey deserves that. But with all those prejudiced messages that I read about Turkey from so-called civilized Europeans, I believe EU will benefit more from this membership. Leave aside the economic gains of the union, at least the citizens will learn something about Turks and Turkey. They are still confusing Turks with Arabs.

Well i liked that answer that Turkey is special. And i kinda agree. Anyway I think its more the American Goverment that want Turkey to ''control'' the EU. Plus, for Turkey to get in they're going to have to recongnize Cyprus as a country.

No. Turkey has all the natural resources, the human resources, the art, the science, the military, the history, and everything else she needs to be a great nation by herself. Europe is nice of course, but Turkiye, she's something special! It's best not to ruin her with European colonialism, selfishness, and downright racism.
