  1. its 5 or 10. i would go for 5.

  2. we all did this in the first energy crisis in 1974. everyone including public buildings & business's turned their thermostats down to 68 at the request of the president.

the natural gas company's said they were no longer meeting production costs because of reduced volume of gas used so they raised their price per unit to make up for the loss.

the end result was we were all wearing sweaters & freezing in our homes while our gas bill returned to the same level as before (or higher)

we wont be fooled again! public utilities are so closely regulated that any reduction in volume must be replaced by higher unit prices to keep the public utility operating.

the only other option is to have them owned by the government & we all know how ineffecient government bureauacracys are. that would lead to higher prices & shortages at the same time.

  3. Who know anymore? The Prices keep going up so actually there is no logical way to reduce your bill.Even if you do turn it down you still will be paying more than you are used to.There is no sure way to tell if you are saving anything.I myself try to conserve a lot buy hanging up my clothes to pre-dry and then put them into the dryer to fluff and soften them.Honestly i don`t know why i am still doing it because like i said my Bill has not went down it actually has went up.
