  1. As a general rule always give it to the Manager/Boss.  If it is a job that you really want then I would NOT give it to a worker.

Not only do you not know for sure if the worker will pass it to the boss but when you hand it to the boss personally it gives you a really prime opportunity to meet them and set a great impression which will set you apart from all the ppl who simply passed it on to a worker.

Take my advice - if they are not there ask when they are working next and make the return trip - it could mean the difference between getting the job or not.

    Good luck!

  2. Give it to the worker.  if the worker says the manager is busy do not demand to see them, if you call them away from their work to hand an application to them they will toss it out.

  3. I agree it is better to give it to the boss or manager. Please remember to dress for the job. Meaning, dress for an interview (no jeans, shorts, flip flops etc). Look professionally. You may want to scope out the place of interest first to see what type of attire the staff wears.  Some bosses/managers, who ever actually does the interview may give you an on-the-spot interview so be prepared. I see lots of people come in to my place and drop off applications and I always ask what they were like. (Were they dressed professionally, were they nice and respectful, etc). Staff will judge you just from coming in because they are the ones you will be working with. Remember that you are being watched the whole time you are there.

You may also want to attach your resume.  Even if you don't have a lot of experience, you could put skills you do have on there. For example, typing skills, student teacher assistant, etc.

Also, don't bring your friends, boyfriend/girlfriend or siblings with you  when you turn in your application. It's a bad impression.

    Good luck!
