I have a large collection of plastic bottles that I would like to turn in for an exchange of money. Does anybody know where I could turn them in at? I live in Charlotte NC. Thanks in advance!

  1. A bottle deposit is on the ballot in North Carolina for this coming fall.  Not sure the deposit they will place to encourage recycling, but the link bellow provides a full look at the legislation behind this there.

The best thing you can do right now (there really is no good way to turn a profit on this) is to take those to a recycling center.  Most will provide you with a slip that allows you a modest deduction on your state or federal taxes.

Trying to sneak them into a deposit state (via Seinfeld) simply doesn't work -- they've gotten to savvy to that trick.

    Good luck.

  2. I live in Michigan, you get 10 cents per bottle at any grocery store. Did you ever see that episode of Seinfeld where they drove all they way to Michigan to get 10 cents per can, rather than 5 cents?
