if the car in front of you is making a left hand turn over a solid double yellow line. also while crossing that double yellow line they cross turning lanes going the opposite way. are they at fault for that accident or would i be? i know anytime someone hits someonne from behind they are at fault... . but the car in front of me was making a left turn over a double yellow line into a corner store and it was right after a stop light and we were also in a single lane. .

i put a picture on here to show what happened the blue car being them and the Green being ME*

  1. You are at fault.

The double yellow line does not mean they cannot turn. It simply means that both sides of the road are forbidden to pass.

  2. its your fault for failing to stop and whatnot

he has the right to turn over the line, the lines just there so ppl are driving erraticly through traffic lanes

    nice drawing btw

  3. Failing to stop short of the vehicle in front means you were following too closely, therefore you are at fault.

  4. You are at fault,100% sorry.

  5. It would have been safer for the blue car to have turned left at the traffic light and then turned right into the parking lot.

If the blue car had been struck by an oncoming car traveling left (approaching the interesection) after the blue car crossed the yellow line, that would have been the blue car's fault.

However, neither of those things is relevant.

    1. If the blue car signalled for the left turn at the proper location and had working brake lights and turn signals, then it is your fault.

    2. If the reason that you did not slop in time was because you did not know that it was going to slow, stop, or turn, and this was either because it did not signal or because its signals or brake lights were not working, then it is the blue car's fault.

  6. It doesn't matter what he was doing. He's allowed to make left turns. If you rear ended him then you're at fault for not having your car under control.

  7. no, just be carefull and nothing will happen....

  8. you(the green car) are at fault.

  9. Youuuuuuuuuuuuu are.

  10. Sorry but you are the one at fault !!!!!

  11. its your fault for hittinghim from behind

  12. Sad to say but it appears you are. It isn't against the law to turn left across a double yellow line.
