Turning my bedroom into a modern/contemporary bedroom?

I want to turn it into something like this:

I want a black and white scheme but i'm not sure about painting my walls white my room might look to pale.

Can anyone give me color ideas and other ideas?

keep the black and white theme but paint your walls like a light blue or something

just have fun and remember its your place to relax and unwind

For sure I would recommend painting your walls.

The thing is, even if you painted it white, you couldn't really do the black and white theme. In those pictures, the floor is also white carpet and white coloured and you have brown hardwood floors. If you want to do black and white, a possibility is to paint your walls white, and then add squares of black.. not like checkerboard but a strip or something of squares or even just a solid strip through the middle to add the black.

Another option is to do black, white, and a colour. You should add a black headboard, and then you could put a colour for sheets and then add white pillows.  Black and white are shades so they can pair up with basically any colour.

I think the most modern colour these days is red. But you could try pink, orange, yellow, blue, light green, purple etc.

white walls are terrific and make a room look larger.  you can use black and red for accent colors on your bedding and perhaps a stripe or two around the room near the ceiling.  use masking tape to keep the lines clean.  the door and wood trim can be painted black and you can make the trim look wider by extending the accent color onto the wall next to the trim.
