Turning off water when on holiday

I have just had a burst pipe due to corrosion I live on the 8th floor of my flat where the water caused damage below on two levels not very happy people and as you can imagine this was due to two facts two much ph as the pipes are old all over the building and water you can not drink any way my question is we have no boiler in the flat as this is for everybody from the basement I am going on holiday next week is it ok to turn all water off hot and cold while I am away cheers.

  1. good idea but as long as your water doesn't continue to another floor, worth checking with the agent


  2. it might prevent a disaster,,so if possible it sounds like a good idea.
