Question:

Turning to Vegetarinism?

I recently read a statistic here I find alarming. It said that "thousands of people every minute are turning Vegan (or vegetarian)". According to wikipedia, there are just over 6.6 billion people on earth. So- for the sake of argument, I will say the "thousands of people per minute" = 3000. So that is 180,000 people in a 24 hour period. At that rate, in 3666.6 hours, or around 153 days, every person in the world will be vegetarian or vegan.

Do you think the original statement about thousands of people a minute is alarming, or is it maybe... stretching the truth a smidge? If it is true, is it mandatory to turn vegetarian after 153 days?

  1. I'm a vegetarian, but that is bull.

  2. LOL  I think I'll wait until day 11,153 before I give up ham, bacon, pork chops, etc.

God gave people tearing teeth (incisors - from one eye tooth to the other) and grinding teeth - molars.  I deduce from this arangement that it's okay if I eat food that needs to be torn (mostly meat) and also food that needs to be ground - mostly grains and veggies.

You know, some of us really ought to hold out against being vegans or the world be overrun by uneaten animals.  Who wants to be up to their knees in pig p**p?

  3. It's a bad statistic.  Don't worry about it.  If we were really supposed to only eat plants, then our bodies wouldn't benefit from protein and we wouldn't crave it instinctively.

  4. i dont buy it really... i wouldn't im not a total meat eater but i like my mcdonald's hamburgers sometimes :)..and i love chicken

  5. Another stupid stat on wikipedia.

If God had meant for humans to eat nothing but fruits and veggies, he/she would have put our eyes on the sides of our heads like the rest of the herbivores.
