Okay so I have a SONY PS-LX150H turntable, and I have some records to play. I also have the stylus, but I don't have a preamp. I was thinking about get this preamp:

I also have these:

Would it work if I connected the white and red composite cables that are attached to my turntable to the preamp and then connect my speakers to the "output" in the preamp? Sorry I've never worked with turntables and amps and all this stuff before. Can you help me please?

  1. The red and white cables are not composite. Composite refers to a type of video connection. They are simply coaxial cables which are similar to ones used for audio, video, and digital connections.

You do have a turntable preamp linked that should work for you.

You can use another coaxial cable (red and white for consistency) to hook from the preamp to the aux input of the speakers.

  2. Yes, that will work...

A turntable puts out a "phono" output...

You're correct in using a pre-amp with it...This changes the signal into "line" level and matched all impedances...

The speakers you mentioned are self powered, so no additional equipment is needed...

The red and white (RCA) cables will be used to feed the signal from the turntable to the pre-amp, then from the pre-amp to the speakers...

    Happy listening...
