Turntable to reciever connections

Question

im trying to connect a technics slbd27 turntable to a carver c-11 pre amp (using its phono stage) then out of the carver (via the main out jacks) into my outlaw 950 preamp's aux input. but nothing comes out . where am i going wrong????
