Im looking @ pics of San Juan beaches online and some beaches appear to have turquoise water and some dont. How nice are the beaches there? I have been to Hawaii & Cancun Mex which I think have very nice beaches, Cancun in my opinion was better since their water was so beautiful, clean, and clear. If the beach water in San Juan isn't clear or turquoise, where's the nearest beach to San Juan that has that type of water?

  1. The best beaches in Puerto Rico  near San Juan are:  1. "Balneario de Luquillo" (going east), 2. "Los tubos" and "mar chiquita" in Manatí (go thru what it is called Carretera #2 <street #2>) very famous you could ask anyone how to get there)   3. And a little bit far (like hour and a half from San Juan) you could get to see one of the best beaches in the island "Crash Boat" in Aguadilla.  Also this beach is a famous spot for surfers during the months from November thru near April.  Hope you have fun!!

  2. San Juan is a big city with over a million people living there & many tourists, so these are not the best beaches in Puerto Rico because they get alot of pollution. They are still nice, Isla Verde is the best in San Juan. Its like Miami beach with resorts & tan sand.

If you want crystal clear waters & powder whte sand then go to Vieques & Culebra islands of the shore of Fajardo. These beaches are almost secluded & very clean & beautiful. Also small cays like Palomino, palominito & Icacos are nice. Gilligans Island in the south is also nice. Rincon has amber sand & great surfing & gorgeous sunsets. Puerto Rico also has alot of stuff to do beyond the beach like the rain forest, camuy caves, the biobay, nightlife, shopping & way more. Enjoy!
