I have two turtles (mao turtles) and they both live fully underwater in my tank. I've been trying to breed them but i learned that they never lay eggs under water. What should i do to my tank to make a place where she can lay her eggs and stay dry. Maybe something that floats or something. Help would be appreiciated. thanx in advance:D

  1. In the wild aquatic turtles lay their eggs in sand so maybe you can set up a dry sand area in your tank under the uv lamp.  these could help make a sandbar.

    hope this helps

  2. Someone else (whose handle I can't recall just now) had a nice setup that the turtle can access by climbing a ramp to the top of the end of the tank. Adjacent to the tank he put a dry area. You could use a large box of sand, compost, or potting soil.
