Question:

Turtle Problem, 10pts if you know!?

There is a turtle digging below my pool, it is already caving in my pavers...

Will moth balls make him come out so I can fill the hole to prevent damage? If you have any ideas, please let me know!

Thanks,

Chris

  1. I believe this is not a turtle but a gopher tortoise and they do make burrows underground. Moth balls will not work for getting him out you will need some type of baited trap. I would recommend you putting some greens by the hole and when the turtle appears to be out you quickly capture it. You can also purchase traps online or in some bait stores.

  2. Contact your local County department for Fish and Game.  They will  be able to identify your problem pest, and they also should have traps you can borrow.

  3. The turtle is trying to lay eggs.

  4. Maybe it's trying to lay eggs. What kind of turtle is it, I wonder?
