Question:

Turtle Rescue in Northern CA for a red eared slider

I saved a baby turtle about 5 months ago from being thrown in a drainage ditch when the people at PetCo wouldn't take it. (I was buying cat food)

It started out the size of a 50 cent peice and is now nearing tea-saucer size. It is outgrowing it's 25 gallon tank and I don't want to buy a bigger one.

I love animals of all kinds but I am not a 'turtle person'. I read up on their care and got all the proper equipment heaters, filters etc but I really never intended it to be for the long haul.

Does anyone know where I can get in contact with a rescue or competent turtle owner who might take her/him in?

Thanks
