i have a 5 inch florida snapper and a 4 inch alligator snapper and i wanted to mix up their diet. right now they usually get reptomin, beef heart, or live fish (rosey reds). first i was wondering if i went to a fishing bait shop and bought earthworms, nightcrawlers, minnows or shiners if it would be safe for my turtles or if you can suggest another place to get these that would be great. also i read if you feed them too many goldfish they could die because of copper sulfate so i would like to stay away from those. second what else could i put in their diet would waxworms, mealworms or blood worms work? im trying to get them off the reptomin since they are getting very picky so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

  1. mealworms work, but theyre pretty disgusting

    just try different feeder fish

  2. Sounds as if you have them on a good diet and all your choices are good ones. You might also try liver dusted with bonemeal. I would avoid goldfish completely because of the fat.

  3. my turtle loves cucumbers and lettuce and sometimes like maybe once every 3 weeks i go to petco and get like 3 worms kinda as a treat :)
