Turtle hatchlings?

when turtles hatch like snappers or red ears or box turtles what do they do after they hatch i no they go to water but like in a lake do they stay by shore or go to deep water and why

  1. They stay near the nest until their egg-sac is used up and then they swim away.They stay by deep foliage,water plants and branches to stay hidden from predators.They are good fishing Bait!


  2. turtles,for a reason scientists never knew,tend to develop an instinct right after they are born to go to the ocean or any body of water in the area...they are like drawn to it.the water waves that hits the shore helps them as they are just washed away to sea by the wave force....

    of course,not all the hundreds of turtles that hatches actually survives in their early ages.only 80 percent of the whole egg hutch that awere born lives.no,it's not because the other eggs are infertile but because they are the perfect food for aquatic animals such as pelicans,sharks,dolphins,etc...they still have soft shell by then and because of that,they are an easy prey...
